EUSR Cat 3,4,5 Deep Excavation & Trench Support Training Courses
Who needs to attend this course?
This is applicable for anyone who works or will be working in poor ground conditions and deep excavations. Candidates will undergo a 2-day training course, this can be either at your site across the UK or at one of our training centres in Nottingham or Chesterfield.
Aim of this course:
To enable staff to carry out work in trenches and deep excavations safely, install and remove trench support and backfill trenches safely in accordance with current legislation.
By the end of the course delegates will:
- Be aware of current legislation.
- Be aware of their health & safety responsibilities.
- Be able to safely excavate and support trenches, remove trench support & backfill.
Deep Excavation and Trench Support Training course content:
- Health and safety executive - safety in excavations.
- The construction regulations for excavations.
- Types of ground.
- Safe trenching techniques.
- Causes of collapse.
- Types of support systems available.
- Selection of support systems.
- Excavation and supporting trenches and shafts.
- Responsibilities of supervisors and managers.
- Shoring with sheet piles, use of timbers and plastics.
