This is a 1/2 day training course for novice or experienced workers for up to a maximum of 6 candidates This can be carried out at your site across the UK or at our training centres Who does it apply to: Anyone who will be working within the utilities, construction and civils sector, pulling Gas and Water P.E mains through the ground, ducts and existing mains when carrying out mains replacement works. Regulation 9 of the provision and use of work equipment regulations states that all persons operating any machinery or equipment must receive adequate training in the safe use of the equipment when operating the safe use of the pipe trailer. The course consists of: History of the pipe trailer Types of trailers Safe use of the pipe trailer Disadvantages of using the pipe trailer when it is not in the correct position Advantages of using the pipe trailer Correct positioning of the rollers When to cut the banding on the pipe Safe use of attachments Introduction to the winch Attachments that can be used Hazards Risks Permit systems Slip lining Positioning of the trailer Pre-shift checks End-shift checks Insertion methods Weight limits and pulling capacities Provision and use of work equipment regulations The Pipe trailer course entails trainer-led theory sessions followed by an EUSR Skills multiple choice questions. Renewal- 3 Year renewal of programme Trained operator theory test followed by a practical test Grants Construction companies registered with the CITB levy can claim grants from the CITB for NVQ’s and each completed course
