N138 Telescopic Handler Suspended Loads

Training Options Available:
Novice operators 5-days training course. Experienced operators (wheeled) 1-day assessment on site or at our training centre. Telescopic Handler Suspended Loads Training consists of: Basic construction, names of components and the purpose and use of all controls and gauges. Use of the operator’s handbook Operator documentation, certificates, method statements, lift plans, duties, charts etc Pre-use and running checks, close-down procedure Preparing the tele-handler when operating with suspended loads for travel Safe use of Jib and bridge attachments when carrying out under slung load duties Travelling over different types of terrain while transporting materials using under slung load duties Manoeuvring progressing to confined spaces in a forward and reverse direction in a loaded and unloaded state. Setting the tele-handler with the bridge or jib attachments to lift and move loads at various heights and reaches SWL safe working load and WLL working load limit capabilities Load characteristics, integrity and security while picking, moving and landing, including landing loads in various positions Lifting, moving and placing various loads accurately including loading and unloading a vehicle or trailer Precautions and actions for overhead services and other hazards Signalling communication with the slinger signaller LOLER inspections How to stay within safe working parameters Placing the tele-handler in an out-of-service condition Trained operator theory test followed by a practical test Grants Construction companies registered with the CITB levy can claim grants from the CITB for NVQ’s and each completed course
