Training Options Available:
Novice operators 10-days training course Experienced operators 1-day assessment on site or at our training centre Mobile Crane Training consists of: Have a basic understanding of the industry, the dangers of working in the industry and their responsibilities as an operator Have a working knowledge of the manufacturer’s handbook for the particular machine to be used Set up exclusion zone Identify and maintain PPE appropriate for mobile crane use Environmental considerations Conduct all pre-operational and running checks in accordance with manufacturer’s and legislative requirements. Carry out all end of work and shut down procedures Prepare the mobile crane for use and operate machine safely and efficiently Be able to locate and identify the major components of the machine and explain their functions Be able to locate and identify key controls and explain their functions Basic construction, names of components and the purpose and use of all controls Regulations and legislation Safety aspects of weight distribution WLL, SWL and working load limit capabilities The trainee will be expected to identify basic construction and components together with their uses, limitations, and principles of operation Pre-use and running checks, close-down procedure Understand and explain the hazards including overhead power lines Apply all necessary safety precautions Safe operating procedures Trained operator theory test followed by a practical test Grants Construction companies registered with the CITB levy can claim grants from the CITB for NVQ’s and each completed course
